Over at Labourlost, Mike Smith is arguing that Labour Policies should be made the Law of the land. Immediately. That way, any democratically elected government would have to undo and amend the laws to implement whatever policies the public wanted.
The Government needs to expand on Yvette Cooper’s announcement last week and start to entrench our values and policies in law to stop a potential Tory government undoing Labour’s achievements of the last decade.
See that? VALUES. They want to make their values the law. To me, that is the same as saying if you don’t believe in Labour policies, you are a criminal. It is thought crime. It had to happen. Labour detest everyone but themselves. They are not interested in what you want. They are only ever interested in what they want. Whether you like it or not, you WILL obey the Labour laws of the land
We must, of course, do everything we can to win the general election, but if we lose there is no limit to what the Tories could do. Parliamentary sovereignty means that the British people have no fundamental rights and there are no laws which parliament cannot change or abolish with a simple majority. Given this, the Tory response to this ‘unprecedented’ crisis could be truly terrifying and hugely damaging.
15% of the vote went to Labour at the Euro sham elections. Taking in mind the turnout, it is closer to 6% of the total electorate who actually want Labour policies and are prepared to vote for it. But that won’t stop them. 94% don’t want Labour so they will make Labour values the LAW.
And people are worried by the BNP? If I see you crossing the road Mike, I am not going to brake. Your contempt for the people of this country is complete. You FUCKER.
