Guthrum this morning wonders whether we may already have undergone a military coup – I fret about our future at the hands of our children.
Our children, and our grandchildren, will certainly look back on these days with a profound and justified grievance.
We have stood by whilst all vestige of our democracy was trashed, and the reputation of our parliamentarians traduced – by themselves certainly – but reinforced by the notion that they cannot be trusted to add two and two and make five, nor understand the very rules and laws that we employ them to write, and thus must be overseen by non-elected apparatchiks appointed by the ruling clique.
We quietly acquiesce whilst a Chief Constable, and the Speaker of the House of Commons publicly defy the Rule of Law.
Our broadcasting media beam out press releases naming ‘suspects’ in a private investigation as though they had the authority of Parliament and the Home Office behind them.
Blogs written by parliamentarians are removed from the ether for daring to suggest (as I did myself some days ago – whoops!) that the secretive Barclay Brothers may have an agenda.
We have saddled them with an untold mountain of debt, which they must work to pay off whilst supporting our demographic bulge with its demands for stair lifts, carers and expensive medications.
It is with deep disquiet then that I note this
