In todays’s Telegraph, Frank Field, one of the few Labour politician’s I have any time for- (Talking sense not bollocks will never get you very far in today’s Labour party)
and on tonights ‘Panorama’ BBC 1- states ‘Solve the Economy or Face Street Riots.
” On the programme Mr Field recalls the day in 1997 when Gordon Brown the Chancellor, abolished tax credits to pension funds and companies. ” I went to see Tony Blair after that Budget” he said ” I explained what had happended and he said in a rather charming fashion, Gordon didn’t explain it that way to me ”
Field states quite plainly that if the Government does not solve this economic crisis it will face a wave of riots.
Brown has know this for quite sometime Frank, that is why he has launched a crash ‘detention’ facility building programme across the country, had the Police undertaking Riot training since last August and has now recruited 60 000 people to undergo ‘anti terrorist’ training. He intends to go down fighting.
I have not seen a Government so frightened of its people, since 1919, when the Brigade of Guards where bought back from France to march through the streets of London, to ‘show a bit of stick’, and warships were despatched to the Clyde and Mersey. This was the same year the Police went on strike.
