One Million 18-24 Year Olds have no job or prospect of training, Labour and the Tories have created a new ‘lost’ generation.
Thomas Burridge PPC LPUK Norwich North
We have the obscenity of companies, being forced to pay employers National Insurance ,over ten per cent of the employees gross salary, therefore a tax on employment, then the disincentive of paying corporation tax, also operating as unpaid tax collectors with VAT, NI, and PAYE.
Before the welfare state most people were trained as apprentices or trainees in SME’s or large enterprises. Getting an apprenticeship or a training post with a reputable local firm was an ambition.
Yet again the Government thought it could do better, thanks to Tories and Labour alike, appenticeships died the death as a form of training, in favour of training my civil servant training quango’s which seem on to employ yet more public servants and not turn out commercially viable skilled people.
The State would prefer to finance lager swilling tattooed covered anti social young people through the dole/jobseekers allowance.
Stop this travesty now !
Stop jobseekers for under the under twenty four year olds, it just creating a depressing mind set of dependancy.
For Apprentices and Trainees in Industry, no Employers NI, and each company can off set apprentice/trainee salaries, training costs and tools, against Corpration Tax, VAT payments etc- lets just cut the middle man, the Quangos and Government out of the Equation.
The Young are the future, we have already saddled them with decades of Debt thanks to Brown. Let’s give them the skills to at least pay it back.
If the LPUK was in power, this sort of economic decision would be devolved to County level not the deadbeats in Whitehall.
